Liverpool striker Fabio Borini is going to be out of action for an undetermined amount of time after fracturing the scaphoid bone in his right foot.
Borini, who the club signed for £10million from AS Roma in July, either broke his foot during training with Italy’s Under-21 team or suffered the injury a few weeks ago and only discovered it on Thursday.
The Cleveland Indians made it official on Monday, naming Terry Francona as the 42nd manager in team history, which raises two questions.
First, if you could manage any team in Major League Baseball, why would you choose the Indians?
Second, does this really change anything for the Indians?
The Indians say they trust Francona is the right man for the job. Francona says he trusts that the front office has his back. The team is asking its fans to trust that it knows what it is doing.
But in a sports town like Cleveland, where fans have been living on hopes and dreams since 1964, is that too much of an ask?
After their loss on Sunday, the Cleveland Browns are now 0-5 on the season, losers of a franchise-record 11 consecutive games.
The Browns are also the only team left in the National Football League that does not have a win this season. They have also lost 22 of their last 26 games dating back to the end of the 2010 season and 37 of their last 51 since the start of the 2009 season.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers came to the defense of striker Luis Suárez on Monday, saying that Suárez is receiving a raw deal from the officials.
“I find it incredible that in nearly all the coverage about Luis Suárez this weekend, very little focus has been placed on the fact that he was the victim of a stamping incident within the first five minutes of the game,” Rodgers told The Daily Mail. “There seems to be one set of rules for Luis and another set for everyone else. No one should be distracted from the real issue here, both at Anfield and at another game played on Sunday, when Luis and another player were hurt in off-the-ball incidents that went unpunished but were caught on TV cameras.
The Cleveland Browns fell to 0-5 on the season on Sunday, as the New York Giants ran through them and over them in a 41-27 defeat that really wasn’t that close.
The 0-5 start is the first time the Browns have pulled that off since the expansion team in 1999 and they have now lost 11 games in a row, tying a franchise record.

The Cleveland Browns return to action on Sunday, heading to the Big Apple (well, the swamps of New Jersey) to take on the New York Giants.
The Browns are looking to avoid their first 0-5 start since the expansion year of 1999.
On paper, pretty much everyone is chalking this game up to the Giants. They are the defending Super Bowl champions, the Browns are 0-4, no sweat.
But there are matchups that the Browns could potentially exploit and the Giants are known to leg an egg or two each season (see their two losses to the Redskins last year).

While watching the NFL Network’s presentation of Cleveland ’95: A Football Life on Wednesday night, we couldn’t help but think that Adele’s Rolling in the Deep would have made a perfect backdrop to the program.
The show did a good job highlighting the various staff members that Bill Belichick collected in his five years in Cleveland and the difficult circumstances they worked under – especially that last year.
The producers never really delivered, though, on the premise that the Browns would have unquestionably won a championship if the team never moved to Baltimore and Belichick would have been allowed to finish what he started.

After playing four games in the span of 18 days, the Cleveland Browns find themselves at the quarter-mark of the 2012 NFL season.
The Browns are 0-4 for the second time in the last four years; the last time the Browns started the season this poorly, in 2009, they were outscored by 69 points in the first four games (an average of 17.25 points a game); while this year the four losses have come by a total of just 25 points.
While 0-4 is not what you want to see from the guys in Orange and Brown, things are certainly better than they were in 2009 – maybe not playoff-caliber better, but better nonetheless.

It’s going to be one heck of a week for fans of the Cleveland Browns.
First off is tonight’s premiere at 8 of the latest 30 for 30 documentary from ESPN, Broke, which looks at the factors that can drain the bank accounts of professional athletes.
And who is one of those athletes, you ask? None other than Bernie Kosar, one of the most beloved players in Browns history.
If you had asked us before the season started which team would be the first to win a game – Liverpool or the Cleveland Browns – we easily would have put our money on the Reds.
We just never would have believed it would take until Week 4 of the NFL season for Liverpool to finally put a notch in the win column.
Luis Suárez had a hat trick, and Nuri Sahin and Steven Gerrard each added a goal, as Liverpool beat Norwich City, 5-2, to give Brendan Rodgers his first win as manager.
